Christie Shin

Christie Shin boasts a distinguished three-decade career as an educator, creative consultant, and design director, specializing in branding, UX/UI design, digital product design, and typography. Currently a full professor at SUNY FIT, she holds key roles, including Curriculum Committee Co-Chair and Co-Coordinator of the Creative Technology & Design subject area. Her outstanding contributions have earned her prestigious honors, including the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities for the 2023–2024 academic year and the 2017 Faculty Excellence Award.

Shin's academic credentials include significant achievements at the Pratt Institute. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, a Master of Science in Communication Design with a concentration in Branding, and a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Product Design.

In 2013, Shin became a Partner and Design Director at Cynda Media Lab, collaborating with prominent clients and earning over 60 national and international design awards. In 2024, she expanded her impact by launching two major initiatives: the Design Portfolio Center, which focuses on preparing designers for professional success, and co-founding DSGN BY D., an innovative eco-conscious lifestyle brand.

Globally recognized, Shin delivers engaging lectures and presents her work at conferences and renowned art schools, including the Rhode Island School of Design and Cornell University. Her unwavering dedication to excellence and innovation firmly establishes her as a trailblazing leader at the intersection of academia and the creative industry.
